Nasty comments for the "Featured Artists"

Why do so many people feel compelled to insert horrible, nasty comments on the "Comment" box in the Featured Artists section on the main JamStudio.com page?

Are they all 10 year old children?  The grammar and spelling in a lot of the comments make me think so.

The disappointing part is that they all need to be JS members before they are allowed to comment!

If a Featured Artist is not your style, you don't need to leave a comment like "this music is crap and your voice sounds horrible, by the way this is not my style of music".  Just shut the heck up and don't say anything, unless it's constructive.

I also hate it when someone jumps on the comment box and says nothing about the artist, but instead says "listen to my stuff, the songs are called blah blah blah...".

Just venting, but it really ticks me off, and I feel badly for the people who are just trying to make good music and share it with the world.

thanks for raising that point guy i perfectly agree with you the comment box for the featured artist is meant for those who have something to say and not just noise makers or scrabers.

I know it may surprise some people but I really agree with Ant on this one. One of the best things about this service is its affordability, but that leads to a false sense of entitlement on the part of some of the "up and comers" as they view themselves to bash, because lets face it, its what they do at youtube and places like that as well. The point about if something isn't your style is right on as well...Of course you aren't going to necessarilly like it if its not your thing, but you do have to respect each person's musical expression.  I know I've had my issues here in the past over one issue or another, but as time goes on I really think that each and every person here has talent and something to bring to the table, and that extends to people I may have locked horns with in the past  . I for one know how protective I am of my music, and I can only imagine how disheartening it must be to put something out there and have people trash it. So if I can learn to play nice, maybe we can help these other apparent members of our community learn to do so as well. I love Jam studio, and I know that we all have something to bring to the party. For those that just want to bash, we could say put up or shut up, but that's not really the point. Any critique at all should be constructive and respectful of the effort put forward and respectful of the trust of the Artist in our community to not necessarilly hail them as "the next big thing" but support their efforts, and recognize that the powers that be at Jam Studio feel that their work exemplifies some of the truly amazing potential that this site has to offer songwriters.

Arbit chats should also be removed -> Eyesore actually !!!

Moderators should take charge.

In viral sites like Youtube, because of the huge volume of data it is very  difficult to keep track/monitor.

But here it isnt that difficult.

I Agree with all said here. I dont know of any moderaters here with the capablity to edit post on the comment section of the featured artist section on the main JS page.
Maybe JS will appoint one.

Telling it like it is Stratocaster! Whats up with these rude and insensitive people? From what I can tell, this site is comprised of members with a wide range of skills and musical backgrounds, and that is what makes it so cool! As someone mentioned it's inexpensive, yet it provides you with an opportunity to create, and express through music. No! Express and create through your "own" music. If done properly, it can be very therapuetic to a person, and as such they are "waiving" their "privacy protection" to put it out there and share, so all of us may hear it and who knows, maybe benefit from it a little ourselves. To see these derogatory and cruel comments posted leaves me somewhat embarrassed that we have the commonality of being "human beings!" Because I'm nothing like those of you who would post such trash, and I say "human beings" because none of you warrant being called musicians or artist, or song writers. I have seen your kind over the years, and believe me when I say that you may as well go back to playing "World of Warcraft" or 'Jedi Knight Academy" or whatever it was that occupied your time online before you found this site. There may be a future for you in the fast food industry, but not in music where someone who is successful is open to new things, accepting of others ideas and input, is non-judgmental and open minded. Think before you post people, feel free to give constructive suggestions, but limit negative responses to "constructive ones." I'm sorry for this lengthy verbal lashing but it did seem warranted. Agreed, there's a large amount of spam and trolling in the comment boxes. I don't know much about websites, would it be a pain in the butt to implement a comment box (would it keep such posts down?). Also, I'm new and a non-paying member. It would be disappointing to me if I couldn't give constructive feedback for artists'  I took the time to listen to just because I got lumped in with all the wanker posters.

I don't like the Admin's  decision of removing the box all together because that takes away from us all.But they had know other choice.I would have banned the little ? but that would have cost the CO. money in the long run.So We will just live with the decision.I really don't know maybe some of them got the AX lol-----------now thats funny lol
