I dont think that we should remove the comment box, because that would take away our freedom of speech, and people saying that it dose/dosent sound good is what it is there for. But when there is cussing and sexual refrences then i think it is the duty of the owners of the site to remove the comment and give a warning to the person who gave the comment. And i know that it would be alot of work to do that every day, but if it is not done, why are we even discussing this? I do agree that it should not be a chat room thing, and i do not know how that could be fixed other than removing the chatbox. But then again i do not think it should be removed.

Saintkat, Forgive my abroptness in suggesting no-members be kept from leaving comments, your import is important and i'm sorry if I tried to diminish it, that was not my intent. Exactly most of the people that post stuff there are talking about random stuff like how they feel or whatever most of them just say hhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiii (in that way) others are just posting bad words litterally a list of them!!!("hey mom I learned a new word today" "well what is it sweetie" "&&$$@!?9" GO WASH YOUR MOUTH" "but mom it's childhood innocence") look I kno that didn't make sense but what if your child sees that and then started saying it we need to filter what people say

When I first came to Jam Studio, I was perplexed at this seemingly random display of idiotude. I posted my thoughts on the current tune. Returning to the page a few times was enough to make me not want to, but I realized that there was more to JS than that blather.
If something isn't being used for it's intended purpose - at all - maybe it's time to reconsider the way it's presented. Perhaps simply providing a link to comment, rather than displaying it all on the "front" page, would be enough for a lot of trolls to not bother. The link could go to a forum thread.

 guys I don't think we need an external link to go anywhere.Jamstudio wasn't made for people to air there personal problems on.Jamstudio was made for people to make music and music idea's.Anything else should be done in a PM or somewhere else.The main idea is to talk music!

Ant Matt has a point he never like cuses any more and he mostly posts in the randomness fourms and yes
random stuff is pretty fun/funny so it's not like he's done anything wrong plus most of his stuff is musically related and lyrics and poety should count in with that aswell I hope this stopped the
conflict between the both of you okay back to the topic I think that people say certain things on the comment box because they have the freedom of speech and probably don't kno that there are moderators personally I think there should be a report button to where anyone can report and bad/conversations comment

I think there reaches a point when freedom of speech is abused. Personally, I'm more offended at the comments that have nothing to do with the music. I'm ok with someone saying " Ugh this is a piece of garbage, bad vocals, bad music" or any one of the more colorful opinions expressing dislike of the music. I don't like to see the comment box being used as a chat box. I think its disrespectful towards the featured artists and for that matter anyone of us who is greatly inspired by music. I mean..say anyone one of us here becomes a featured artists..and 95% of the comments are " HIIIII i'm RickEEE" " When is class over?  " "I like Grapes! " |
