If I open a song or make a new one and press play no sound comes out and the little box thing showing what note it is on never changes position. Help?

Make sure your computer is updated to the latest version of Adobe Flash.

I have and have had the latest version of flash. It makes no difference for the amount of pages I have, logged in or out, change of anything on the webiste really.
Also, there is never any sound when I try the preview things for the different notes and instruments.

Hey v !
This might not fix the problem....but it will test to see if JS is running properly on your computer....and to see if your sound settings may need to be adjusted
Try this.....In JS click new......In the instrument panel, guitar.classic should come up automatically highlighted....press the play button.....normally JS will automatically insert the chords of G--C--D--C and will begin to play the guitar through the speakers. If you still don't hear anything....try plugging in headphones and press play again....if there is still no sound on speakers or headphones.....check your sound and speaker settings in your systems "control panel" . Also, make sure your drivers are up to date. That's all I can think of for now......but keep trying and post your results in here again.....someone will see it and will be able to help you figure it out !

Could also be blocked by your firewall.

Excellent point on the firewall Mike. I didn't think about that....... This might sound silly....but it happened to me before If your monitor has speakers in it, it also has a volume control on it, so make sure it's turned up ! lol ........ In my case, I spent an hour troubleshooting a sound problem only to discover that the volume control on my monitor was turned all the way down ! I must've inadvertently turned it off when I was dusting or cleaning it....I hope it's something simple like that for you too "V" !! Dave

guys if it was a flash player problem the web sight may not load! he said no sound! try your sound drivers!you may not have your sound card set to default.if you are useing speakers and add ahead set the head set may not work unless you set it as your default.

He also said the chords were not moving.
Try Dave's suggestion, if the G C D C wont move/play either, then it has nothing to do with any sound issues. If they do move, but you dont hear them, then it could be a sound issue. But if they dont, its either your browser (try a different one, like mozilla firefox), your settings (browser may be blocking things) or it could even be a proxy of some kind.
The more info you give us, the better we can help.

Thanks for all the help guys, but its still not working... Tried stopping firewall, using firefox, and for all I know, everything is up to date. I am very sure its not a sound problem.

I was thinking active-X.
At our office active-X applications are blocked by default.

I'm currently in college (Almost done for the semseter!!), but it didn't work when I was at home with different browsers and such either. Currently I run IE 8 but as stated, Firefox doesn't work either. Dell laptop (Studio 1535), Vista, popups allowed for JS, cookies are always allowed from JS, on the trusted sites list ("Prompt before dowloading potentialy unsafe content", "unigned active-x controls will not be allowed"), tried different accounts with different emails, I can't think of what else to tell you guys... It's looking pretty grim.
