hey Clint,
This is a collaborative effort from Dave H and myself Brianeno/Ron. Dave wrote the music , and I the lyrics and i di the vocals. I really think it's a worthy submission. It's called, "I woke up in your dream" and can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/ronrentz. For your consideration...

I Woke up in Your Dream
Written by Dave Hensley and Ron Rentz
Verse 1
The last thing that I felt were your lips as you kissed me goodnight
Shrouded in darkness, unconsciously drawn into the light
Shapes without substance, and shadowy forms without a face
It all rushes past me suspended in time and in space
I can’t recognize this place that I’m roaming through
The one thing that’s certain, I know that I’m searching for you
Chorus
There is a sudden gleam, and a familiar theme, somehow I woke up in your dream
This is a well planned scheme, perhaps a bit extreme, somehow I woke up in your dream
Verse 2
I’m now in a hallway, I’m walking past rooms that have no doors
I keep hearing voices, they call out but none of them are yours
It feels like forever, I’m tired but no way I’m not stopping now
If I just keep walking, I’ll find you, though I’m really not sure how
From one of the rooms  a familiar voice says come in
I know where I am, though I’m not certain where I’ve been
Chorus
There is a sudden gleam, and a familiar theme, somehow I woke up in you dream
This is a well planned scheme, perhaps a bit extreme, how did I wake up in your dream
What could it mean, it’s such a crazy scene, I somehow woke up in your dream
What am I suppose to feel, this is all so surreal, I guess that happens when you dream
And you’re just sitting there, with this peculiar stare, “What are you doing in my dream?”
This is a well planned scheme, perhaps a bit extreme, how did I wake up in your dream?

hey Clint, I was just reading the bio that was written about this months featured artist and I had a thought that I wanted to put out there for anyone to comment about. I can understand that the selection process is difficult, arduous, grueling , laborious, etc. You have submissions from all over the world to consider, but is this "selection" a vehicle for JS to recognize someone who has endeavored to make good music utilizing the site, with all of it's innovation and all of it's limitations, or is it to acknowledge individuals who are having some degree of success that are willing to mention "Jam Studio," in the bi-lines? I'm sorry but the fact that this artist utilized the site to, "experiment with some chord progressions that inspired me to write a song that people really seem to like. I re-recorded all the instruments in "the studio," (not jam studio?) maintaining the feel of what I discovered at Jam Studio during..." is this an opportunity to showcase one of Jam Studio's own, or just a means of getting exposure for it. It's your site, your selection and I understand about the need to market your product, and hey this isn't a bad way to do it, but honestly, for me, someone who contributes regularly through posts and feedback, almost daily in fact, hearing about Chris August's chord progressions on JS that were re-recorded in the studio, etc, etc was a slap in the face. Just wanted to share this you man, and with my fellow JS members. Late Ron/eno

I have to agree with Brian.  I figure that the featured artist should be to recognize one who has never been in the studio or is a new artist via jamstudio.

I do use jamstudio as a writing tool.  I have gone from a real instrumental composition to recreating on jamstudio and vice-a-versa.

This guy has obviously been in a studio and is not a regular needing a break from jamstudio to make it.

Jamstudio is not about giving anyone a break it's about giving those who cannot afford it or do not have a band a chance to make music.even pro's can log on and lay down a track or two without any of us knowing it.Some of us can play better than others. Some of us can sing better than others. The conclusion is that We all are here to have fun.

These are my feeling on the subject and may not be the feeling of Jamstudio or its staff.

I think I've managed to gather all the songs I've made with Jamstudio in one central spot. Check out my Myspace page and the website. You'll notice a lot of my songs are with Jamstudio !! Smiley

the soundclick widget on those pages have my songs
And the imeem widget on the pages has all the instrumentals I've made with jamstudio. Smiley

The vision for JamStudio.com wasn't for people to create a "final product" ready to be sent to Sony Records for duplication... The vision was a musical scratch pad in which a musician could turn an idea into something tangible in minutes. Some traits of that vision are still extremely evident: limited to 5 pages, no "beat making", changing chords on the measures.

We celebrate graduation! We cast a HUGE net, people are learning chord structure, how to play instruments, how to sing... and they will all eventually take their talents to the public... to their church, their schools, some to stages and... some to studios...

Abandoning a JamStudio artist once they take their song to a studio is completely against the very reason we created the site! Our DREAM is that someone be discovered because of JamStudio.com.

Be motivated and inspired to create great music.

My music recently got accepted by A&R reps and I'm working with them to build my image and get my music promoted to be possibly placed in Tv, movies, and grab record labels interests. I just started so hopefully I can make it down the road. I have JamStudio to thank and I will if everything goes well. Check out my profile and vote for me and my music! http://www.promofm.com/donna_r Smiley About 90 percent of the songs on there are Jamstudio instrumentals.

And here: http://www.imeem.com/donnaraphael The instrumental player is strictly JamStudio Instrumentals I created.  Grin
