Hello, I have a question about what kind of equipment I should use with jamrecorder - more specifically - what kind of mic. I'm sure this is a very general question with a bunch of variables, but just wanted a suggestion -thanks. Oh, and I would like for the vocals to be able to sound clean as in the song called 'Adjust' written by Cole. Thank you.

I use a GT66 made by a company called Groove Tubes. I don't know how much you're looking to spend but I plug this straight into the computer with an XLR-1/8in adapter.... A good mic will save you money in the long run, you'll buy a bunch of junk trying to make a bad mic sound better

This is the GT60, the GT66 wasn't on their website.

Thanks for the response Clint. Unfortunately thats way out of my budget right now.  Do you remember what Cole used for his song 'adjust'?

Hi Bagawitz,

Just a note to say that even the most expensive mic will sound like crap it the preamp is of bad qaulity! Going straight into the computer may work good or bad, but it depends on the soundcards preamp. I bought a second hand mixer for 50 bucks with decent pre-amps and it works pretty good.

I have simply opened up the jamrecorder and tracked straight in at times to the computer's mic.

What I did was sing into my actual mic through my keyboard amp that is also a vocal amp.  It came out pretty well on some of the songs I have done that for.

My acoustic songs that you all have been hearing from me as of recent are all straight acoustic and vocal into my HP laptop and mic.

I have even done videos straight into the HP mic, as you all saw before when I started by laying down vocal tracks into the video's on muvee autoProducer 5.0 with cam.

V/R,
Joey
