I really couldn't gauge a favorite artist anymore.

More like influences from different eras or styles.

I would have to list styles of music and then the influences under each.

From Led Zep and blues and back to classical and all the way back up to modern rock.  Throw in a few country, jazz, or hip-hop likings.

I have always been told that I was alternative and grunge as a musician before either were in the mainstream.

I guess I could start listing bands or artists, which would go on to above the 1,000 mark.

I have always been a Pink FLoyd, Zep, Skynyrd, and Black Sabbath fan with all the permutations and solo careers.  Bands that followed those influence like Collective Soul, Brother Cane, the Goo Goo Dolls, Everclear, Metallica, and etc.

I have also sought out non-mainstream or not-well-known bands.

I will say that one of my favorites is Candlebox...when everyday is done.  That group seems to encompass a little of most styles of music.

Joey

V/R,
Joey

my friend's dad is a rock-star, no joke, and when you said u liked Black Sabbath, I thought of a funny story:  one day, a friend of mine (stef.) told me and her other friends it was her birthday the next week (we'd totally forgotten!) and we knew she liked Black Sabbath.  the rock-star-dad contacted Black Sabbath and we had an autograph for Stef. on her birthday!  I've never heard them though.  Are they good?  Grin Grin Grin

Difficult to limit, much as Joey said, but okay, here's a few:
Peter Gabriel
Paramore (Hayley rocks as does the whole band, going to see them on the coast at the end of the month opening for No Doubt, My best friend is Gwen Stefani's drummer, we should have good seats and back stage passes!)
Sorry for that...where was I?
I like Keane alot, great band, great song writing
Genesis (with or without Gabriel)
Roxy Music
Rise Against
Death Cab for Cutie
Saosin, Chevelle, Yellowcard, All American Rejects
Elvis Costello (perhaps the consumate song writer of last century, Niel young would be right beside him for that honor)
General Public (English Beat), Bob Marley, Ziggy too
Yes, Pink Floyd, Brian Eno (that's odd!?), Social Distortion, Sparks, Gary Myrick and the figurs, Depeche Mode, Naked eyes,
Blink 182, suicidal tendancies (all I wanted was a pepsi and she wouldn't give it to me), Joe Jackson, Willie Nelson (my other buddy drums for willie)
god i'm such a name dropper
Panic at the disco, this is an extremely talented and profoundly creative band!

so there are some peeps I love, oh and mesobran, no Black Sabbath is not good, although extremely popular for a period of time, I never got it, but I'm kind of close minded when it comes to "hard rock" or "acid rock," I hate it, just one reporters opinion however, take from it what you will
 Bye everyone, late Ron/eno

Yet it\'s happening and it\'s fattening and it\'s all that we could fit into the show!

ha ha - so I guess Black Sabbath is one of those bands you either love/hate!  Brianeno - you are so lucky you are seeing Paramore... they have a new album that comes out September 29th called "Brand New Eyes". I'm totally obsessed with them (as I posted above somewhere, I'm dying my hair the color of Hayley's...lol)

Some of you said coldplay, right?  If none of you did, they're one of the only more rock-like groups I listen to.  They're awesome  Grin
