The easiest by far is techno. the hard part is making the song flow.

i find it easier to make R&B and soul songs. But thats just me.

Yeah Mes , I think thets going to differ from songwriter to songwriter, I f you listen to nothing but country, I expect that country would be easiest to write. But if you took Merle Haggard and asked him to write a "techno" song, I think he'd disagree with you ASFAN, the same would be true of most songwriters specializing in a single genre, There are not too many cross genre songwriters, probably for that reason, although Elvis Costello did write and record a country album, but I see him as perhaps one of the top 5 songwriters of the 1900's, Neil young sort of does it too and yes he's on the list too. Point being, Mes, do what makes you feel good, what flows from you. you don't have to commit to 1, try them all and see what fits. Late Ron/eno

Thanks everybody!  I just asked because I'm trying to "widen my horizons" or whatever that saying is my mother always goes on and on about... lol.  I suppose I'll just stick with the mellow stuff for now.  Thanks again everybody!
