This post presents an idea for JS subscribers using JamStudio facilities exclusively, without the use of other editing software or equipment.

Has everyone realized that because of JamStudio's perfect synchronization of the arrangements, it is possible to create multiple arrangements of the same "song" each exported as MP3, which can then be imported as MP3s into JamRecorder for mix as individual tracks of one "song?" This allows creators more instruments than are currently possible on one set of 5 pages. *NOTE: careful not to change tempo on the separate sets intended to be mixed as tracks in JamRecorder.

There would still be the same limitation on the length of arrangements, but more variant mixed parts are enabled by the method of mixing multiple MP3 arrangements created in JamStudio. Presently JamRecorder is limited to 4:40 record time. *NOTE: also keep in mind that it is possible to create arrangements in JamStudio which greatly exceed the 4:40 record time, resulting in your imports into JamRecorder being chopped off.

If the site builders at JamStudio would facilitate a measure of silence, possibly made available in the Variations list of chords, then JamStudio users could place silent measures within bars. This would silence all instrument sounds for one measure. A silent measure would open limitless possibilities at the mixdown of MP3 imports within JamRecorder. Then there could be one or more silently empty measures on one track which could be filled by sound in the parallel measure on another track or just left empty for a 4-count silence.

If you are willing to sacrifice a page you can lower the volume of one page to zero and make it just one measure.

good call! That is the solution for a silenced measure. I would just mute all of the tracks instead of messing with the volume... less mouse clicks Smiley
