omg - love this song!  I first heard it on the radio and didn't know what it was called.  It took me six months to track it down but I finally did.  It's sad but so beautiful, and not just the lyics which is sometimes the case - the music and her voice are amazing.  I cannot post a link right now but another awesome song is "Already There" (by ??), or one that Ive always loved is "Nobody's Home" (avril lavigne).  The avril video is really sad but touching  Cry

Red House Painters - Katy Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFQ4nuUuwNo

Sigur Ros - Staralfur - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6rcPRt7sjA

Mogwai - Tracy (my personal favorite of the three) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cCw1eHEL2A

Post-rock is often one of the most beautiful music genres out there.

haven't been to this topic in a while but I like the songs you guys are posting.  This album came out not too long ago (this month I think) and this is my new favorite song.  It's sorta religious and I'm not, but it applies to many things...

Turn it off - Paramore

I was just browsing through the posts and I had to look at this. I agree that My Immortal is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard. I also think Good Enough by Evanescence is a beautiful song. (:

I think the most beautiful song ever made would have to be "I Celebrate the Day" by Relient K.  It's a Christmas song, yes, but it's also a really great song. And you can get it for free from Amazon.

I reckon it has to go a bit to beat Hurt by Christine Aguillera. I know I know! But she's got the best vocals on earth.
Then again when I think of it, perhaps it's her other song "The Voice within" that's the most beautiful. Here. I'll let you decide.

evanascense. lol. they aren't what they appear to be my friend. i know them personally. see i live arkansas and they are not what they claim. i used to play the club scene with them and i know how they got their music. they claim they wrote it theirselves, but i know the truth. most of there stuff is ripped off of local musicians who they think will never make it, so they buy them off and take their money. hacks! trust me this isn't a rumor, but i know personally. nuff said. sorry. me and amanda, aka amiee lee, aren't cool anymore we used to be, but that is ancient history.

i am posting a retraction for my last comment. i'm just bitter. evanescense are not that bad. i really just don't mean to air out personal buissness. i want everyone to form there own opinion. so sorry if my comment offended anyone. I would just like everyone to know that i wrote about 4 of their songs and never got any credit. they paid me, but never gave me any credit. i'm just angry. for legal reasons i can't tell you which songs so please don't ask.

Feel for ya hatchet! I liked their chart breaking single, but definitely see where you're coming from. It's all a bit to contrived for me... but then again, that might be because I like a bit of indie more than anything... and of course bands who clearly define their motivation (whether that be fame and fortune or not).
