Another one for most beautiful song is My Father's Gun, and old Elton number from the album Tumbleweed connection and goes particularly nicely to these clips from the movie Elizabethtown... 60b man.

Most beautiful song ever?

Too many to mention, really...
Mozart's Sonata, "Moonlight"
4 Non-Blondes, "What's Up?"
"Amazing Grace"
*"Gypsy Rover"
Leonard Cohan, "Hallelujah"
The Verve, "Bittersweet Symphony"
Alanis Morissette, "Mary Jane"

*(or any Celtic lullaby, for that matter)

Feel for ya hatchet! I liked their chart breaking single, but definitely see where you're coming from. It's all a bit to contrived for me... but then again, that might be because I like a bit of indie more than anything... and of course bands who clearly define their motivation (whether that be fame and fortune or not).

Well stated tibrien, most bands do tip their hat at some point and reveal their motivation, and it does define them. What is truly a shame is when that definition limits the artists creative mojo, and they lose the ability to be fresh and innovative, as happens so often. Oh and yeah...I like alot of Indie too. And Victor, your staement that this song is "the most beautiful" should contain the words "to me" at the end. It avoids sounding like you are trying to will it to be so. Just a thought...late, eno

Yet it\'s happening and it\'s fattening and it\'s all that we could fit into the show!

I swear I've listened to this song over 300 times in the past few days...
I'm on a downward slope right now and no one ever home so I just belt out vocals with it. Greatest song on the face of the planet.
Tells a good story too.

Well, this thread hasn't been updated for a long time, but when talking about beautiful songs there is one from my own country. It's in a dialect actually. The translation of the title is Where Are You.

Enjoy!
