Hi there.

IM all new here. Its a great place but theres one thing I dont know how to do.

How do I make an end to my songs so that they dont just end with the last chord? Can you fade out or can you make a real ending with drums stopping and chords holding and such?

Hope someone outthere can help

Hey, welcome to JS!  Grin
The only way to fade out would be to get the all acces pass and fix that in another program.
Though you could use something like Eguitar. Bolt,  Piano. Charlie, etc. in just one page and put off the drums since they are just one tune which fades out.

You might wanna read my guide by the way, it contains alot of techniques you might make use of.   Wink

Thanks victor. I do have the all access pass. Is there somewhere that we can suggest things to jamstudio? For example to put in endings. Or to be able to have more than 5 pages.

Check out the fabulous Jam Studio tutorials for increasing pages. As far as endings are concerned, it's a bit of a crap shoot. Some files end better than others. A lot of people use JamStudio and load it into their music program to tweak and edit. Hope this helps.

that's how I fade my songs out, but other than that I'd say it's about choosing the right instruments to give the song the "this is the end" feeling if that makes any sense

Welcome to JS!!!

I have garageband, which I pay for. Audacity is good, but it is somewhat limited compared to the capabilities of garageband. If you would like, I would be glad to mix it for you!

My dilema, is that I don't have the all access pass yet, simply because of procrastination (and college courses), if you would like, we could do a tradeoff, I mix your songs, you put mine into mp3 form...deal?

As Ant will point out repeatedly, even once you DO buy the pass, if his last pm to me is any indication.

 Grin

As for ending songs, I've done two different things. Now that I have the all access pass, I've been just getting the mp3 mixes and fading them out in audacity. But before I had the pass, I was recording the music straight off my sound card using a very useful program called "Ask and Record".

Using Ask and Record, you record the song "live" as it plays in Jam Studio. That means you can add instruments right in the middle of a page, fade out each instrument manually, and the like. I was able to get some really complex endings using this. Unfortunately, there are playback errors when you play a very high-tempo song in Jam Studios, and the Recording software records all the mistakes as well. So you kind of have to download the mixes for them.

Also, you should definitely buy the pass. Not necessarily for the mp3 mixes, but for the rights to your songs. I'm glad I did.

And don't forget the most important thing.Without the pass you don't own the song Jamstudio does.So you could be in trouble for braking copyright laws.
