I'm sure it's been said a million times already, and yes i do  realise the problems and difficulty behind it, but I think the only problem (yes, the only problem) with JamStudio is that there are no mid-bar chord changes, and you need to use outside sources to add lead melody. If there was a cheap, time/resource friendly way around this, then JamStudio.com would be the ultimate music writing tool, rather than a really awesome music writing tool...

hey, loves the JamStudio <3

just postin' mah thinkings... Smiley

I love this site and this program, and i love using it to create music. It is far and away the best tool I've come across. However, being a performing musician i do tend to get occasionally frustrated by the fact you cant create 'solos' or that bit of improv. that you have the freedom to do in real life recording that turn a really good song into a great song.

This is well and truly out-weighed by all the advantages JamStudio  presents. But, since it's a feedback thread, i thought id post my feedback. I hope my little gripe didn't overshadow the fact of how awesome it is... I reeeeaally do love JamStudio to bits (have I said that enough already? lol)

Grin Frogfish_21  As a performing musician for over 35 years,I do understand where you are coming from. What I mean being able to think out side the box my friend is this.Jamstudio is a Musician's starting point and can help you in many ways. But it's only one piece of the Musician's portfolio. Some of my Musician friends use Jamstudio in practice sessions along with editing software. And I thing its just great how thinks are moving from the Analog state to the digital world.

hey Frogfish, here's my example. Because of sore fingers (probably from too much amazing and complaining) I have a hard time playing guitar for any length of time. I'm finding that the tunes are escaping my head. I still have the melodies, but as I don't write music, I've relied on my memory, which at my age is a pretty stupid thing to do Grin lol. No, I'm serious. So JS has allowed me to put together a lot of my songs into musical mode. It has forced me to "think outside the box" and as a result I think a lot of the songs are much better than they were before. I've got my own darnit orchestra! Rock on, Frogfish. We'll see you in the Show Us Your Stuff threads, and maybe the Collaborations, too!

You know, in hindsight, perhaps the title of this thread wasn't too well thought out :S

I don't really think there are ANY problems with JamStudio. Maybe "Just One Suggestion" might be more appropriate?

While we're on the subject of suggestions, my only other one would be maybe more strings and perhaps some less contemporary instruments, if only for backing purposes? Even synth quality could work. In fact, maybe just an additional loop or two in the synth section?

Other than that, I may be out of the loop, but I can't wait for 3b/b to be introduced... A world of endless possibilities is gonna become, well, MORE endless XD
