Getting to know someone when you dont speak his language is really hard. Same goes for understanding music but not knowing the theory well enough.
Youre talking about a scale, but what you posted is only a group of tones.
So my tip is to take some theory lessons. It really isnt so hard, getting the basics down is pretty easy tbh.
To still try and answer your question. It looks like the Dorian mode, but that depends on the chords youre playing. If you play this on top of a Bm then it could definitely sound Dorian coz it has the distinct minor 3rd (D) and major 6th (G#) combination. But play this on top of a C major blues and youre actually beboping

If you play both the G and the G# then youre actually mixing 2 scales (switching from one to the other): B Aeolian (B C# D E F# G A) and B Dorian (B C# D E F# G# A)
Are you still with me?
Yeah cheers dude.
I am only (as of last month, actually) beginning study into modes and the use of accidentals. Until last year, I hadn't had any lessons, theory-based or otherwise. Until 12 months or so ago, I thought "music theory" was a song that wasn't finished

I'm slowly playing catch up... I've been playing guitar for 6 years now and realising how much further I could have progressed had I had proper tutoring is a wee bit frustrating, to say the least. But back when I first began playing, I was a lot younger and alot less mature, so I guess looking back I wouldn't really change anything, as now I have a much greater appreciation for music in general.
Seriously though, thanks guys. I won't repeat myself too much, but the help is appreciated.
