Hi Victor. Unless you have a MAJOR contacts you can pretty well forget about getting it heard by a record exec. But now-a-days... people are bypassing that whole bs and using social networking sites and whatnot. I would try myspace and youtube. But... make sure you copyrite your stuff. At the very least... do a 'poor mans copyrite' before you put it out there.
Best of luck!!

T is right on, with that, Victor. Also see Soundclick, Songcast...and give your friends downloads of your tunes, to carry on their pods, as long as they agree to share with others. If I was a pod-wearing guy I would let others listen to your stuff because I think you got the grooooove Soundclick has a copyright feature (I'm still getting to know that one). And I bet Ant has lots of ideas, too I'm thinkiing of taking my tunes on a karaoke-style mall tour! Not! lol.

Thanks for your advices. Im on Youtube already but I ain't getting many views.. I spam for people to go to my channel and listen to my songs. I recently started making my songs to videoresponses.. They seem to be getting more views but I have only got like 50 subscribers in a month xD This is gonna take a loong while unless I get someone to promote it. Perhaps I should know what soundclick is already but Ill look it up thanks.

Increasing your "tag" words might help. An underutilized market for promotion could be machinima, a growing field ( www.machinima.com). Perhaps if you offer one of your songs to a machinamist to use in a trailer (yes, they do those too) it could increase your play and pass around your name. Just a couple ideas.

I don't know about you, but I'd definitely go old school: make fliers. You have no idea how many people will see something and decide to check it out. I don't know where you live, but if you go into larger cities and stick posters and fliers up everywhere that definitely does at least something. When I go to my summer house, downtown they have an entire structure just for people to put up posters and whatnot. You can also ask at different stores and restaurants if you can stick up a poster/flier. It all depends on where you live and how friendly people are... If that doesn't appeal to you or you don't wanna do that...then I'd just stick with what everybody else has said

Well here is a way to get your stuff to people that can use it, or get it to other peole who can use it. It's called "Taxi.com." It is a service that cost you $300.00 for the first year, and 100.00 thereafter. What the service provides is a way to get your music to film makers, TV producers, Music execs, and it does this by putting out a list of "industry needs" on a monthly basis. So you can look and see if there is a need for a song for a recording artist, a movie or a tv show, or any number of other vehicles, and then submit your songs for as many or as few of the notification you wish. I think you generally go head to head with approx. 75-125 other artist. That number can be far less at times but I think thats the average they give on the site. It is an excellent way to get your music heard by record execs and producers, and the site has been responsible for some really big record deals, some that have turned gold records. Taxi.com does not take any royalties from your record deals, you have already paid them for that. They just facilitategetting your music to people that can use it. Otherwise I think it's sort of hit and miss on the various websites available to post your music on. There have been alot of people discovered on these sites though so if you get enough hits, someone will take notice. Otherwise as eluded to by T-reloaded, unless you know somebody, it's near impossible to get heard by a record exec. I am thankful to be well connected in that area. Anyway, good luck, just wanted to share that with you all, most people are unaware of it's existance. Late eno

Heres another way to maybe get recognized.. http://www.musicsubmit.com• Radio Stations: Includes terrestrial, college, local, and web-based broadcasters in every genre that focus on the indie musician. To see sample radio stations, visit our genres page. • Online Music Magazines: Music writers and online music magazines of all genres. • Blogs: Rapidly taking over the role of print media as a way to discover new music, blogs have the remarkable ability to move and expose bands with speed unattainable by traditional print resources. • Directories: Not only do we save you the time it would take to submit yourself to international, regional, and genre-based music directories and search engines, but we also save you the many hours it takes to search the web and find them all. • Podcasts: Research shows that 12% of the 207,161,706 estimated internet users in the US now downloads podcasts, reports The Pew Internet and American Life Project. Podcasts are a great new way to promote your music on the internet! • Indie Record Labels: Some indie labels in select genres now accepting musicSUBMIT artist submissions! Robert
