Omega and Wyotryot,

You guys are psychic.  How did you know that some of the action takes place in Minnesota?  I like the snow forecast and the dispatcher soundbites.

You are definitely on to something.  Can you take out the the scream, and the ending?

Instead of "Featured Presentation" can it be something like "New Novel" or "Book Trailer" or "New Thriller Novel?" or "Thriller"

The font for "Falling Star" is too exotic, all the action in the book is in the U.S.

The word "thier" in "Keep Their Secrets" should be changed to "their"   In this visual all initial caps are probably best.

The word "just" in "They were just ordinary people" needs to be in lower case.

I spell my name with only one 'l" (Philip)  Two "ll" are for the British.  It was also misspelled as "Phillp" in another spot.

I am attaching a photo of the book cover for you  to use.

Any way we can get the reviews in?

"gripping" - Robin Hathaway, noted mystery author

"Mysterious and provocative, an intelligently written page turner" - Former magazine managing editor

"I haven't enjoyed a book this much since Tom Clancy" - Reader

"I will never see the ocean in the same light again" - Reader

"absolutely enjoyable" - Reader

*****

The credit roll should look like this:

Novel by Philip Chen

Video produced by Glenn Albert (website?)

Original score by [Wyotryot's real name]

Using JamStudio technology at JamStudio.com

Book Cover designed by DavidRossDesign.com

Falling Star is available as a Kindle Book from Amazon

at http://amzn.to/Falling-Star

Get a Free Kindle Reader for your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, or Blackberry

at http://amzn.to/GetFreeKindle

*******

Can Wyotryot's ending chords be extended to run out the credits?

I don't know how I can repay you guys except to make sure you get the proper credit.

I repeat that the only thing I can do is run banner ads on my community message board http://pugetsoundspeaks.com for your website (hopefully driving real business your way).  1,500 to over 2,000 hits a day and 50 to 100 real visitors a day.  Once I get this book established and on its way, I can go back to trying to figure out how to make that site grow more.  Obviously, both of you should use this video to promote your own business freely.

I owe you guys: Omega, Wyotryot and Dave.

Thanks,

Phil

Omega,

I was just thinking.  How about a single rifle shot instead of the scream?

Hey Phil and Omega.
I agree with all that you said there Phil about the visuals. I also think the sound fx should lay back a little more, and fade in/out (softer edges) specially the helicopter. I would have no sound fx before "kill me". I also think "kill me" should be in the area before the electric guitar starts (about 55sec). Thanks for the credit Phil, although I would be happy with you tagged for the original music, and me as producer for it.
I really don't have a website that i pay much attention to at the moment. So, I'll have to look at that and get back to you.
Lots of hard work in this omega, it's looking pretty good.

Thanks for the update of info Phil ill re-work the video with the alterations. Wyo im gonna soften the sound effect as they are to loud, ill try fading them in and out but i dont think it would sequence with the visual it would be like a delayed effect and put the timing out.

I will try adjustment with both suggestions and you can pick phil once done.

Wyo and Omega,

Thank you for the compliment, but here is where my alleged tone-deafness comes in.  I can't see any of my original attempt in your wonderful mix.

I agree with you about the scream (I suggested that it be replaced with a rifle shot), kinda detracts.  Maybe pulsating "KILL ME" would be effective.

The reason that I think you and omega are psychic is that helicopters figure into this story in several places, both 1960 era Hueys and 1993 era  Bell helicopters.

Thanks,

Phil

Omega,

A couple of suggestions.

1.  Can the voice overs and clip audio (wave sounds and lightning) be softened a little, some of it drowns out Wyo's score
2.  Ms Hathaway's quote in its entirety is: "Anyone interested in the future of America’s defense and weaponry will find this novel gripping" and should be on a page by itself.
3.  You can put the other reviews two to a page, including "Mysterious and provocative, an intelligently written page turner by someone who knows his subject" which should be attributed to "Former Magazine Editor"
4.  Can we get the url for the book, http://amzn.to/Falling-Star, at the end? The other time it was used flashed by so quickly that I missed it initially.
5.  Suggestion for the last line of the last screen:

Now available as a
Kindle Book on Amazon.com
http://amzn.to/Falling-Star

6.  Another way to handle the credit roll is to simply replace it with one or two visuals.
7.  Can the visuals be sharpened up any?  Does your program have a High-Def feature?
8.  Once finished can you send me a copy by email at philip.chen@eighteastlawn.com so I can put the video on YouTube, Facebook, and other places?  Copying the video off  YouTube denigrates the quality.

I think you and Wyo have done an amazing job.  If you and he would like, I would be very happy for you to enter this in any video contests that might help further your own careers.  In addition, if you and Wyotryot wish, I will run banner ads for you on my website, Soundings: Puget Sound Speaks at http://pugetsoundspeaks.com

Again, Thank you so much for what you have done.  I truly appreciate the help and the stunning final product.

Omega,

I think we are almost there.

Some comments:

1.  The Book Trailer visual should end before the Feature Presentation starts spinning in.
2.  The review from Ms Hathaway and the Former Magazine Editor need to be separated
3.  I'm not sure that I should get credit for the music unless somehow Wyo used my JamStudio creation.  If that is the case, I think that we should share dual credit
4.  Can you add back the credit for the Book Cover Design, By www.DavidRossDesign.com

It looks terrific

Thanks again,

Phil

Grin Guys I'm looking at this like someone who may buy this book. I don't think the wording in the trailer tells you about the book.It sounds like to me that you are talking about people [humans] I think it needs something like [have they been living among us for centuries] it need more mystery in the trailer.

Hey Phil. I downloaded your original JS score, then ripped it apart and kept what I felt worked best. So, in essence, it is yours. I'm fine with co-written, if that's what you want.
video is looking pretty good.
Like Ant, I'm not getting the connection between "oceans" and "they were just..." I assumed it would be in the book. Maybe take some time to rethink those words.
I'm a sci-fi fan (presently reading Iain Banks, Matter) so I would buy this book, too. It sounds intriguing. Love the cover art.
Omega, good c&p - seamless. Visuals are well-placed and well-chosen.
I would like to say though, aurally, it becomes too busy. For me the newscasters are fine, but the helicopter and morse code seem really out of place. While they might relate to the story somehow, those sounds become distracting, and set up a different expectation than what you might be going for - it makes it feel very old school, political thriller, and still just a little cheesy. I'm so glad there's no scream. That's just me, remember. Whatever PHil and Om want to do is just skookum for me.

Wyo and Ant,

The story line is basically this:

In 1967, a U.S. Navy geomagnetic survey flight detects an anomalous signal in the deep ocean off of the east coast.  Subsequent exploration by, amongst others, the hero Mike, discovers four such objects; huge black ovoid masses on the bottom of the ocean surrounding the United States.  For twenty-three years, these objects just sit there quietly.  Suddenly they wake up and start sending signals to outer space, Mike is pulled back into the super secret agency that has been monitoring these objects to help decipher these signals.

As Mike makes his way to the agency's headquarters he is attacked by mysterious groups of people who look like ordinary Americans.  They want to kill Mike and his colleagues who are similarly targeted.  Now Mike has to fight for his life and still solve the mystery of the objects.

He is also told that his revered friend, Johnny, has died.  Does Johnny's death mean that the mystery of the objects will never be solved.

The story (spoiler alert) deals with UFOs, USOs, Military conflict, underwater technology, pitched battles, gorgeous friendlies and not-so-friendlies, kindly grandmothers with deep dark secrets, Navajo medicine men, Roswell, Socorro, dark  undercover spies, deep sea technology, weaponry, etc. etc.

People who have read it liken it to The Hunt for Red October and to W.E.B. Griffin military novels.

You can get it at http://amzn.to/Falling-Star for $2.99  You don't need a Kindle as Amazon supplies free Kindle readers for your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Andorid or Blackberry at http://amzn.to/GetFreeKindle

Hope you like it.
