Here are some of the things you need to be aware of: You are trying to sing over top of the music and your not in sink.you are straining to hit the high notes so you may wanta try another key.It may be the way you are hearing the music.try to sing with one ear out from under your head set so you can hear yourself better. These are some think that will make you a better singer!

If I can just record my voice, would someone be able to mix it in for me? I dunno. I'm not feeling my voice in this...in some parts I can hardly understand the words I'm singing...like Ant said, it sounds like I'm too far away or something and feel I have to strain, I can hit the high notes...just not when I'm tired...I dunno. :/ I wish I could do more. I'll try it one more time...this time just my voice. If it not meant to be its not meant to be. I told you I wasn't the best singer...

Grin I think what you may wanta try is to record the music one step down the scale and then re-record your voice.I'll take it a step down for you.

Hey Crystal !

Wow !.....what a difference without all the background noise (for example...the music track playing...lol) to distract you !......Your vocal pitch is sooo much improved !  I'll run a mix on this and we can evaluate it from there.....

This is VERY close......and after we have done this a few times .....it will to come together.....lol.....I have worked with Ant and wyot on a couple of projects and I think our average collaboration time for one song is around six to eight weeks.....so don't get discouraged....  Grin

I'm sure Ant will give you a couple of mixes and so will I......so.....stay tuned....this is really starting to shape up !

Oh yeah....the average length of a song played on the radio is 3 minutes and 20 seconds ....right now this one is like 5 and a half minutes ....which is great when it comes to mixing......the final cut may crop a couple of bars here and there and may shorten some of the vocals too...of course any changes will need to be approved by you...and, you can tell us what you want done as well.

So, we'll be around.....just work on it whenever you have time....NO STRESS !.....you have enough of that already !

I'm gonna get on my other computer now and try out some mixes....  Grin

Great job Crystal !!!

Dave

Hey Ant .......on my first attempt at a mix I was having trouble aligning the vocals with the music..... I was picking up some noise too....but I was only able to remove about 20%......lol.....I think I'll wait for you to work some magic on it..... I know......I'm still a rookie !.....Grin

Catch you tomorrow !

I'm following this, finding it developing nicely. Crystal, the advice these two guys are giving is precious and bang-on. Now, as a vocalist, involved in theatre, used to projecting, and having taken voice lessons throughout my life, please allow me to offer some advice.
You have a good voice, and right now are a good singer. But...
Yeah, you're stressed. I can hear it in your voice.
You're also all breath. You are breathing into the top of your lungs, instead of using the "root of breath" which is the diaphragm. You will gain more control by using the mid-body muscles. Lie down. Think your breath being drawn in to your pelvis, and pushed out that way. When you can do that naturally, is when you will begin to gain control.
Relax into the high notes, not tighten up. Try to keep your throat open. Visualize hitting those notes.
And don't sing when highly stressed, tired, irritable, etc. You'll only harm your voice.
I think you have potential to have a great tone, a la Aguilera and Pink. Yes, you could.
I'll see if I can dig out my old vocal notes and exercises and post them under tips and tricks.
let it flow, Crystal. You have a great song here.

Grin Dave see if you can work with this,If not I can work on it some more: http://www.fileswap.com/share/37563b0d1f006bac8437ac2d38265e23/test-0.mp3.html

I cleaned it up but there are still a few problems with it. The blowing in the Mic is caused when you get to close to the Mic.You must keep your distanced from the Mic at all times. And I herd touch the Mic at I think you moved it yes you did lol.Like Wyatt said you need to stand up.hang the Mic from the ceiling and don't touch it.
