Since when did JS start limiting the number of tracks that free users can use? It's like one day I'm making cool music the next, I can't use the same beats, riffs, etc without buying an all access pass...I understand not being able to make mp3s, that I can live with, but when you start saying...oh we have 30,000 free loops you can use then one day cut access off to them when free users were able to use them before...it doesn't make any sense.
I'm in between jobs right now, and I can't afford the 24.95 for a six month subscription. So I was making song and posting them up in the public share. I was doing collaboration with people too! Now I can't access the same loops used or go back and try different ones because they aren't available anymore.
When did they start doing this? And why?
It's seriously frustrating me...

If you see a pop up asking to buy the 6/Month sub. Just click not now if you don't have the cash. Just remember without the pass you will never own the copyrights to the songs that you make!

You don't have access to as many loops any more. Like for example, just today I went to make a song and I couldn't use the crybaby drum loop or chop. There's a sticky note that pulls out from the red all access pass feature in the top left that says "Get access to the entire music library and download your mp3 songs." And it won't allow you to add the loop to the mixer. It's not just the drums its every instrument in the library. You can access the first 30 free drum loops, 12 guitar loops, 20 eguitar loops, 10 synth loops I haven't checked out the piano, epiano and organ loops but I'm sure it's the same there.
This just...wow...I dunno anymore.

Well then maybe they have changed something. They don't tell me and Dave anything. You can contact Clint at clint@jamstudio.com for all the info.

Hey toobad4mj2005 ! I just tried the instrument lists without logging in and you are absolutely right...... ......maybe it's something they started up on January 1st or something....does it do the same thing when logged in but without having the all access pass ? .........hmmm......I'm not liking the sound of this...... Yes, I don't currently have an all access pass, and it's just frustrating how on New Year's Eve I wrote a song that sounded exactly like Usher's "DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again." Then a couple of days later, I get another idea for a song and when I go to put in the chords (One of them was Bm7 I remember) I got the sticky note and it wouldn't allow me to put the chord in there, so I just stuck with Bm and tried to put the Crybaby drum loop in there and the sticky note showed up yet again...so I tried Factory...yet again the sticky note came up...its frustrating to say the least.
I will send Clint an email and see what's up. But I have a feeling that they implemented this in at the start of the New Year. I just thought I would see if you guys noticed the same thing. Everyone (who is a free member now and was in the past) is threatening to go on hiatus or leave all together because of this change. I might just go on a little hiatus until I can get some cash to pay for another 6 month subscription.

I've had problems in the past with sticky notes on chords but thats because my computer was either running very slow or because I needed to refresh the page I will have to get on JS and see if I experience these problems because I don't have an all access pass

Come to mention it, this problem happened to me recently. I was logged in, but thought I was limited to just a few instruments due to the chords I was using, but that doesn't make any sense now that I think about it. Something must be going on. I hope this gets fixed.

I know it sounds bad and all.But you need to look at it from Jamstudio's point of view. They can not keep Jamstudio up and running with free members. Someone needs to keep the servers up and running and pay for the web site!

I hope the new version is enough to make new members want to join.....It's definately not enough for the people who have already been using the whole loop library, because they already know the full potential of Jam Studio.......I feel bad for the people who are hurting for funds that want to join though.....hang in there Crystal !......
