Hi Everyone,
It’s been a while since I have been around. Back when I was more active I did a bunch of songs. This past week I asked Robert to take a listen and see if he would like to put his magic touch to any of my old songs. He picked Crooked Man, and in no time remastered 3 versions of the song. Here they are:
Version 1
http://www.box.net/shared/jhfmmse8jkzfbxd6ldcz
Version 2
http://www.box.net/shared/jxxqpz0oqb5ihsmka91k
Version 3
http://www.box.net/shared/2pac321hkh80vtdjb49j
I like all 3 and though Robert did a slam dunk I was wondering if we could make a version 4 with some real guitar and maybe piano playing in it. So I’m wondering if anyone would like to come up with those parts to add to this song.

I've only had time to listen to the first remix, but WOW! Robert and Rip, nice job. Love the understated and beautifully mastered vocals - specially the smooth and slightly odd support of the harmony vocal. Way to go guys.

Thank you Das and Wyot,
Robert is awesome, honestly I liked the first version best I guess I like simple, but the more I listen to #3 the more I like it.

Hi guys,

I like the idea of both the simple version and the more elaborate version however, the version with the guitar is way off tune. I rushed it. I wish somebody could fix it. If not I may go back to it when time allows.

thx guys,
Robert

Hi ripamo ......Great job Robert !......that mix is so clear I thought I my wife had actually bought me the Bose headphones that I want !..... Rip, I've  loved this tune from the first time I heard it !....we even did a version of it way back when.....these remixes are much better....I like all three of the new versions,  but I prefer the first two.  For me, the third version sort of lost it's "dark edge".... which was an aspect of the original cut you did that really grabbed me.  I'm gonna bring this thread to the attention of another JS member (megametz) who plays Eguitar and some piano too ......I believe this song might fit in pretty good with his playing style.  And if he's not able to respond here in the thread,  I'll just walk across the street and knock on his door .....(neighbors)....lol....We'll see if he has some time to mess around with it.....I'll let you know !

Hey ripamo... Great song! I like the first version the most and recon some live guitar would go great with the track. In the first one it's like you hear what you would like to hear even though it's not there Tongue. The lead in the third version doesn't suit the song at all imo. Great vocals man, I like the tone of your voice. Great work Robert on the mastering... crystal clear  Cool
