I must really suck at singing...

I tried out for this Voice of Mcdonald's contest, and they're not even going to show my video. Their like "Thanks for trying out, but you weren't selected..." I was like "What? How did I not make it?" I have officially given up on music. Obviously I can't even make a simple contest like this on my singing voice. I was creative, I wrote my own piece of music, I was animated, I did my best with what I had, only rules we had to go by was to be creative and have fun. WTF ever. Last time I am ever trying out for some hyped up stupid contest. Forget music, forget Mcdonalds...I'm done.

  You must keep in mind that there ,where thousands of entries.And you will find a lot of people that are better than you! I hate to say it but there are a lot of Guitarists that better than I am.

Thanks Ant for the pick-me-up I'm just frustrated that my video didn't even make it go on to get voted on...that's the part that sucks about this whole thing because from the rules all videos were going to be able to get voted on and the top three would go on to go to Orlando. I memorized the rules before I even entered the contest...that's why I'm so frustrated.

  You need to keep your head up and learn from others. Just take a look at Das's video production skills.You can learn a lot from the Jamstudio Musicians. Check out the mastering skills of Robert Hall. [trebor999 ]

Hi Crystal....you don't suck at singing.....you're a good singer !   I've been checking out this competion and almost every video I saw that made it to the voting stage was performed in a professional studio with professional sound technicians, and some even had professional videographers too.  That's pretty tough to beat unless you've got a big stash of cash to pay for it all .....lol.... Hang in there Crystal, and you're always a winner here in the JS forum.....

Well Crystal as you know, all the people that really know music visit this forum.    And we know that you can sing like the best over here.      When I start singing over here, it gets crowded with excited farmers who think they can capture a squealing piggy for free.   

But honestly if music is your passion (and we all know it is), then don't let this bother you too much. Just keep making your great music and let people like us enjoy it to the fullest.     In my case, I actually make music that I like. If others like it as well, then I consider that as a compliment, if not then it's fine with me also. I have no intention to get famous in the music biz since I'd probably rather get famous as a Mario (yep, Luigi's brother) look-alike.    I still have hopes that my daughter will carry on for real in the music biz. We didn't name her MC just for fun.

I don't know I think it's all staged...they say "Oh yeah all crew and managers can sing for this..." but yet only a select few can afford the luxury of having professional people tweak their stuff for them. >.< It's a sham and they don't let people who are creative with what they have even be allowed to compete. It's frustrating but at least I can do what I want now and not really worry about staying w/ Mcdonald's anymore if I don't have to.  I love my bosses too much to leave right now however. I

Yeah ....I agree........ looks like some big time producers/songwriters squeezed in on this ....Originally, I thought this contest was designed to find someone working in the McDonalds franchise that could add a little home grown personality to the fine company that it is .....but sadly,  commercialism seems to have spoiled good intentions.  I found it a little hard to believe that this particular video was put together by "just an employee" ........Check out the fine print in the intro banner.....surprise surprise ....Those guys wrote songs for Britney Spears (and a few others too) !.... ......Oh well....it is what it is I guess.......

Oh that upsets me greatly...I'm done with contests like this. It's a sham! Just a way to get people's hopes up only to say "Sorry your video wasn't good enough or fancy enough for us." Whatever.

it ain't no big deal, Crystal. McDonald's sucks anyways: their food sucks; their management policies suck; their environmental footprint sucks; you're not missing a thing by not being involved. Just keep at it - remember what Dolly Parton said: "Find something you love and do it on purpose!"

Hey now! You most definitely do NOT suck at singing! If anything McDonalds is missing out on a great musician. There are other options and opportunities. Keep your head up high and keep on trying maybe someday you'll be recognized
