I found a cool way to fade out my song. I get it set up and playing, then when I am ready for it to fade out, I slowly turn the volume down on my speakers! It works every time!

Hope this helps someone else out there.

Yeah, Audacity is fantastic.  You can even cheat the system by recording several pieces separately, then splicing them together.  You can add fades, EQ, and a few effects.  It's pretty basic, but it's good enough for me.

Is a sustained loop in the plan?   Final chord.. held out?   I suppose a page could be used to simulate this with the right loop.

If not, could a fade out be automated?

I believe we have at least one sustained sound for each instrument.  If we don't, let us know because we should.  The final impact chords or transitions are tough to program in because they're such a small part and require individual attention, rather than just a whole bunch of the same type of thing repeating over and over.  Naturally, we want to do this and it's on our minds.  I'm not sure when we'll have something like this available, but we definitely want to do it.

But having an automated fade out at the end is an interesting idea.  It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to program.  I'll pass that along.

The "save to mp3" function on JS will be available when we release version 2 of the site (in January).  AND...that will record in stereo for you.  Enjoy!  Smiley
