The main public shared list, only allows a user to post a song for about week or so, it's for this very reason that the list becomes very chaotic and disorganized. People find themselves enjoying certain artist's songs, but in order for people to listen to those songs they must either be, new, or reposted under a different file/song title, causing many people to resubmit daily. So why not have a public artist shared folder? The artists could have a folder titled by their username, with any of their songs they wish to "remain" public. The JS database already keeps records of these songs already, so the means is there, why not making things a little easier for the user? JS can still keep the public shared list and still add these artists folders as well. In time I feel that the public shared list will become less cluttered because people won't need to resubmit their music one song at a time. This also could be an exclusive, to all access pass users, sweetening the allure of the pass. Even if the artist had to resubmit the folder monthly (without having to retitle it), would save us a lot of time effort, and fustration. I don't know, just a thought...

Hello welcome to JS!!! I agree I don't post in there tho but it is very cluttered sometimes I often believe that there should also be a genre option for the song the person is posting...

Hey Free !....I think I see what you mean. So, if I'm getting this right......A user controlled Public Share Folder could be added into the "Open Song" box. The member could move any and all songs they wanted to be heard publicly, from their "My Songs" folder into the the public one. Then, the member could choose to have the public folder posted into (or removed from) the "(Recent) Public Share" list at any time. Unless removed by the member, the public folder would remain on the "(Recent) Public Share" list for 30 days, and after that, it would automatically be dropped off the list by JS...... but, could still be posted again by the user. Is that close to what you have in mind ?......I think it's a good idea......I'm not sure what the programmers might say though. I guess they would have to evaluate costs and such. Oh....and by the way, Nice work on the tutorial !...... Dave

Yes that's exactly right. As far as taking up storage, JS already keeps records of each user's music anyways, so really it wouldn't take much more memory . The GUI would have to be updated a bit, this would probably take the longest to create (ui design and construct), but as you can see, I made a rough draft in about an hour. Also JS would have to add more advance collation code, instead what's being used now, by alphabetical/numerical sorting (by adding sort/show by letter vs mass sort). Adding a search feature wouldn't be all that hard, most of the script is already out ther on the internet, also the bar is already there, that saves a litttle bit of time, you would have to set search parameters and limitations, but anyone with some script sense could do this. Adobe swf and spl files would have to be tweaked (this could possibly take some time, depending how much the developers want to change). Then of course, testing and tutorial creation for the new feature. All in all I think ppl would love it, even if they had to get the all access pass to get some of these features.

Hey Ant,
Why not make a section here in JS forum and in that section we could have 1 post for each artist that wants a place to place all thier songs. Then that artist could just update thier post when they have new stuff to put into it. Maybe this could work until JS gets the artist pulic folder working. IDK, just a thought.
