Way back when... JS employee's used to visit this forum quite a bit. Now they are non existant. They used to comment on peoples work and talk about the future of JS. Now I feel some what left out in the cold. Are there still updates to come such as the 3/4 timing, more loops ect... I wish they would make an appearance evey now and then.

Yes, we're constructing a roadmap for JamStudio and are very excited about what it holds in the future. We want to find out more and more ways to help songwriters write the music they were made to create.

We are at a point where we would love to hear feedback from our devoted customers. Email me with any ideas you for the future of JamStudio.

Thanks!

Ummmmm.... While we're at it, why don't we make all the loops free again like in the good ol' days?  Grin

Hey Clint,

As a customer of Jamstudio, I just wanna say that the site is wonderful and has helped me to grow as a songwriter and branch out into different styles of music. Although I'm not gaining any recognition for any of it, I do enjoy songwriting and I use it as an outlet for my inner emotions.

Here are some ideas I've seen discussed, and some ideas I think would be cool to implement into the site.

Artist Folders : I think it would be cool that paying subscribers be able to have their own folder in the public shared folder that would always be stationed on top in alphabetical order. If the subscription expires, they lose that folder and must post underneath all the paying members folders for their music to be heard. This would be great because a lot of great music is going unheard because people are too lazy to go through all the songs in the public shared folder and if you know who you are looking for, or want to hear what your favorite artist is up to, you just click on their folder to view all the songs they've posted into it...that is if they are a paying member of course.

3/4 time : No rush on this, but you have been promising this for the past 4-5 years now? You could implement it into the members only category too and have it as a bonus for those who pay membership.

Two chords per measure and/or cut time : Even at 151 bpm I still find it difficult to do songs that I would like to try without this because the song sounds rushed. This also can be a members only feature.

More instruments : I would love to tinker around with a brass section, woodwinds, strings, and it'd be cool to get some updated drums loops. Many members have asked me about this, and I think it'd be a great members only thing as well.

I know this will take lots of time and manpower to go through, but you asked for some ideas that have been brought up, and I think it would generate some great revenue for the Jamstudio staff as well as make membership really worth buying. You can even up the price a little too, maybe $30-$35 for a 6 month subscription and hold songwriting contests with a free 6 month membership to the brand new Jamstudio as a prize! You can do that once a month even and have the person who wins be the featured artist for that month.

Just another idea!

Let me know what you think about them...

Yeah I second all of Crystal's ideas... Roll Eyes I don't know about the increase in payments though... Roll Eyes I think that an upgrade to the site would bring the extra people that should bring the extra revenue...  Roll Eyes

Clint... I appreciate that we can email you directly with our ideas but I also think an open discussion in the forums is a great way of brain storming ideas where one idea can spawn another and we're we can gauge the feel of certain ideas as well...

I think an artists page or folder is a great idea... somewhere we can build a little bit more of a profile... and if public share and the forums could be somehow linked, that might be cool...

Well that's my two cents... Cheesy

If I could impart a suggestion, it would be to be able to download the midi counterpart of all of the loop files in the available library. I have to make the assumption that this files were recorded on some DAW, and that the midi was recorded as well as the audio.

It would also be nice to be able (even at addition cost) to download the JS application, and run it on my computer without being online.

Oh Oh, it beer thirty already ........................
